
Dirk Joustra, BComm, MBA, CA, Partner
Dirk has been a partner in Soberman's Assurance & Advisory practice since 1981, where he is the partner responsible for Professional Practice.
Dirk's broad cross-section of clients (both private and public) include:
- Commercial real estate;
- Automotive services;
- Professionals such as engineers, lawyers, physicians
and orthodontists; and
- Investment Companies.
For close to a decade, Dirk acted, first as a member and then as the Chair, of the Professional Conduct Committee (PCC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (ICAO). The PCC investigates all written complaints about ICAO members, students, professional corporations and firms as well as any other matter drawn to its attention that may indicate a violation of ICAO rules of professional conduct, regulations or bylaws.
From 1989 to 2000, Dirk served as the Treasurer for St. Paul's Anglican Church, Bloor Street in Toronto and St. Paul's Foundation for the Arts.
Dirk graduated from the University of South Africa in 1974 with a Bachelor of Commerce. While in South Africa, Dirk worked for several international corporations. After moving to Canada, he received his CA in 1978. A year later, he received his MBA from the University of Toronto.
