As a consultant with the Corporate Recovery & Insolvency department at Soberman LLP, Ken is involved with all aspects of our financial reorganization, restructuring, insolvency and asset preservation and retention practice.
Ken's extensive experience ranges from consumer bankruptcies to unraveling the most intricate financial circumstances and complex corporate reorganizations. He is highly regarded for his technical expertise within the insolvency community and particularly noted for his astute advice to those seeking his help. Financial institutions, business owners, landlords, suppliers, lawyers, accountants, insolvent individuals - Ken advises them all.
As a Trustee in Bankruptcy, Ken makes numerous radio and television appearances to discuss bankruptcy and corporate reorganizations. He writes and is regularly quoted on bankruptcy matters. Ken lectures on various related topics to staff at the major banks, the Income Tax Department and numerous professional associations. In the summer of 2001, Ken's book and CD-ROM, The Canadian Guide to Troubled Businesses and Bankruptcy, was released by Carswell Thompson Publishing. Ken and Jerry Gaertner have just completed two new books for Carswell: Identifying and Advising Businesses in Trouble and Restructuring and Accounting for Businesses in Trouble.
Ken is a founder (1982) of the Toronto Area Insolvency Discussion Group and an Executive Board Member and Treasurer of the Ontario Insolvency Practitioners Association.
